Mumbai, Jan 23: Voxtur Bio Ltd, manufacturer of in-vitro diagnostic kits and reagents, is coming up with its entire cardiac testing range, under its IVD portfolio. The company will begin with VoxPress-Troponin I lateral flow rapid test.

Patients suffering from chest pain at the hospital’s emergency departments can benefit from VoxPress Troponin I rapid test that will deliver its results in couple of minutes, reducing the time for availing necessary treatment.

VoxPress Troponin I rapid test is very simple to perform, with a drop of whole blood that can be collected by a simple finger prick. VoxPress Troponin I rapid test comes along with an in-built procedural control, for ensuring the test authenticity, delivering results in couple of minutes and that too with easy interpretation of results. Furthermore, it’s a room temperature-stable product, with an excellent performance in specificity and sensitivity.

Troponin I is a cardiac and skeletal muscle protein useful in the laboratory diagnosis of heart attack. It occurs in different plasma concentrations and is a part of the troponin protein complex, where it binds to act in thin myofilaments to hold the actin-tropomyosin complex in place. Because of it, myosin cannot bind actin in relaxed muscle. When calcium binds to the troponin C it causes conformational changes which lead to dislocation of troponin I and finally tropomyosin leaves the binding site for myosin on actin leading to contraction of muscle. The letter “I” is given due to its inhibitory character.

For high-risk cardiac patients, such as those with Acute Coronary Syndrome, rapid initiation of treatment is critical in order to improve patient outcomes and to save lives. Only 10% of chest pain patients can be diagnosed by an electrocardiogram (ECG), the rest need to rely on additional cardiac marker testing for the diagnosis of myocardial infarction. Physicians often have to wait for long hours before they can safely discharge the patients or if they need to admit them into hospital for further tests. Only a single drop of blood from the patient is required to be applied on the VoxPress Troponin I test and one can have the test results in minutes, for undertaking necessary course of action.

Troponin tests are primarily ordered to help diagnose a heart attack and rule out other conditions with similar signs and symptoms. It is more specific for heart injury than other tests, which may be elevated in the blood with skeletal muscle injury and remain elevated for a longer period of time. Either a troponin I or troponin T test can be performed; usually a laboratory will offer one test or the other. The concentrations are different, but they basically provide the same information. Troponin I and troponin T are released into the blood when there is damage to the heart. Troponin tests are also sometimes used to evaluate people for heart injury due to causes other than a heart attack or to distinguish signs and symptoms such as chest pain that may be due to other causes. Testing may also be done to evaluate people with angina if their signs and symptoms worsen.

A high troponin and even slight elevations may indicate some degree of damage to the heart.

When a person has significantly elevated troponin levels and, in particular, a rise in the results from a series of tests done over several hours, then it is likely that the person has had a heart attack or some other form of damage to the heart. Levels of troponin can become elevated in the blood within 3 or 4 hours after heart injury and may remain elevated for 10 to 14 days. Normal troponin values in a series of measurements over several hours means that it is unlikely that a person's heart has been injured. Signs and symptoms may be due to a cause unrelated to the heart.

Voxtur Bio enters the export market

With everything geared up, the firm has started exporting to 29 countries


Mumbai, 22 November 2016  The Mumbai-based company Voxtur Bio Ltd, manufacturer of in-vitro diagnostic kits and reagents, has started exploring the export market, with exports to 16 countries that include Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Kenya, Tanzania, Bolivia, Bangladesh, Qatar, Myanmar, Portugal, Malaysia, Romania, Lithuania, Dubai, Mali and Ukraine.

With a full-fledged manufacturing infrastructure in place, the firm has set out an export-oriented growth strategy. Product registrations with the respective ministries of health around the globe are in process and export has picked up well, said Khushroo A. Pastakia, CEO & Executive Director, Voxtur Bio Ltd.

“Apart from offering our products under our brand, we have also tied up with couple of world-renowned manufacturing companies for manufacturing our products in their brands, under OEM. This will also provide us an easy way to utilize our manufacturing capacity, to reach out each and every corners of India and abroad,” said Mr. Viral Gandhi, Chairman & Managing Director.


Having a wide level of international exposures in more than 100 countries across the world, Khushroo Pastakia has already gained a strong foothold in tapping 29 countries with product registrations in progress and as well exports, within a very short time frame. Voxtur has also undertaken its ground work, with initial participations in international events like Medica in Dusseldorf (Germany) and Arabhealth in Dubai.


Next target for export would be countries such as Chile, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ecuador, Colombia, Moldova, Brazil, the Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam, where the product registrations are in progress and expected to be completed couple of months down the line. The company is betting big on the potential in these countries for the rapid test kit market, added Khushroo A. Pastakia, CEO & Executive Director.

Voxtur will also be concentrating the IVD products market, whose worldwide potential is huge.

“Deployment of sales team based on continental structures, participation in major international exhibitions in Europe, Latin America, Middle East and Far East, participation in local exhibitions in selected countries of Africa, product promotion advertisements in selected international media and much more is in the agenda for tapping the export potentials,” Khushroo said.

Regarding the changing trends in the diagnostic segment, Viral said that those days when the treatment was given by doctors in India on the basis of their own pre-judgements are over.

Voxtur Bio enters the fast-growing in-vitro diagnostic test kits market with wide portfolio

Mumbai October 07 th 2016 : Mumbai-based Voxtur Bio Ltd, equipped with world-class production facilities, has entered the fast-growing domestic diagnostic market by launching a wide range of in-vitro diagnostic kits and reagents.

Voxtur Bio, set up by young entrepreneur Viral Gandhi, was commercially commissioned in April this year and has already launched nearly 100 products in different categories of the in-vitro kit manufacturing sector dominated by just a handful of players in India.

Voxtur’s product portfolio covers the range of rapid testing kits for infectious diseases like HIV, HCV, HBsAg and Syphilis, along with rapid tests for seasonal diseases like Malaria, Dengue, Typhoid and Leptospira. In addition to the initial product portfolio, it has now focused on the OTC segment with hCG pregnancy testing kits, both under normal device format and mid-stream format. It also launched the entire range of Blood Grouping agglutination Sera, along with all the flocculation tests for Rheumatology. 

Khushroo A. Pastakia, CEO & Executive Director, Voxtur Bio Ltd, said that currently the firm is working on the ELISA range for all the prominent infectious diseases and has also set up a huge infrastructure for manufacturing of blood collection tubes.

“In the initial phase, the company ventured into Hematology and Immunology, two of the four major segments of clinical diagnostics. The product portfolio under our stable includes Rapid Test kits, ELISA Test kits, Blood Grouping sera and other Flocculation tests to begin with. Later on, the company will be venturing into the other two remaining segments: biochemistry and microbiology, apart from highly automated clinical laboratory analysers in the clinical chemistry and haematology arena,” Khushroo said.

Voxtur boasts of its state-of-the-art infrastructure, that includes 40000 square-feet manufacturing unit, class 100000- and class 10000-certified facilities, sterile rooms, culture rooms and dehumidified rooms, air handling units, walk in cold rooms, forced draft ventilations, incubators, laminar air flow benches, bio-fermenters, autoclave ovens, automated antigen/antibody coating machines, high-speed centrifuges, UV chambers, deep freezers, electronic microscopes and much more.  

The company has also put in place an active marketing plan for the domestic market and will be deploying its sales team of 100 members, positioned in simple two-tier structure. “We will be setting up our distribution channel by partnering with various stockists across India. There are around 300 small and big cities in India, amongst which we have shortlisted 100 big ones that need to be targeted during the first year, with an increase in count year after year. Gradually we may opt for a C&F/super-stockiest sort of business model for each state,” he added.
