- Personalized counseling sessions for students to familiarize them with opportunities in various engineering domains on May 22, 2016
Mumbai May 19, 2016: Established with a vision to bring about innovation in higher education and learning in emerging areas of the knowledge society, the not-for-profit NIIT University (NU) will conduct career counseling sessions for engineering aspirants on Sunday May 22, 2016. The Sessions will be conducted from 3:00 pm onwards at NIIT center, 2nd Floor Jayashree Building Next to Paradise Towers, Gokhale Road Thane-West Opposite Alok Hotel, to benefit students aspiring to make a mark in the engineering sector.
NU is an embodiment of the university’s vision to create holistic leaders, who contribute meaningfully towards building a better tomorrow. During the seminar, Ms. Ruvina Macedo, Regional Director-West, NU will guide the students on different fields of engineering, help them choose the right field based on their interest and aptitude, and enlighten them on the plethora of career opportunities available to engineering graduates. He will also address the industry and career related questions and concerns of the aspiring engineers and their parents during the Q & A session.
The career counseling will help students understand various skills required for a successful career in engineering and various job opportunities available post completion of the engineering course. Students who have recently appeared for Class XII board exams can attend the session.
Elaborating on the rational for holding the seminar, Ms. Ruvina Macedo, Regional Director-West, NU, said, “Over the years we have successfully created a new model of education to build great careers that foster critical thinking, innovation and research centric approach to shape individual minds. Through this seminar, we aim to educate students and parents on NU’s approach on teaching methodology that is aimed towards developing these critical traits”.
Admissions to the B.Tech programmes at NU are based on Class X and XII marks and Personal Counselling Interaction (PCI). Scholarships for B Tech are offered to encourage and support meritorious candidates, under the ‘NU Scholar Search Programme’. NU offers scholarship benefits up to 100% on University Fee. For the batch 2016-20, the last date for application is 30th June 2016. NU provides BTech programme (4 years) & the BTech - MTech Integrated dual degree programme (5 years) in Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Biotechnology.
