Videocon Connect Conducts ‘Young Manch 4’ City Finale in Ludhiana

Around 40 Participants showcased their talent in the city finale

Ludhiana, 3rd February, 2017: ‘Young Manch’ the Videocon Connect initiative that scouts young talents conducted the City Finale round of its fourth season. The said season of ‘Young Manch’ started with a lot of enthusiasm and gusto in October 2016 and witnessed an immensely encouraging participation from the youth. The most potential contestants of each city competed against each other at the City Finale round which was judged by an esteemed panel of judges.

About 40 contestants from Jalandhar, Amritsar and Ludhiana competed against each other in the City Finale round held at Ishmeet Singh Music Academy Ludhiana. The energy at the venue was infectious and the excitement was at its peak. People were cheering for their favorite contestants and the participants were enthralled to receive such an encouraging response from the public.

Sanjay, Aastha, Harchand, Jagandeep, Shivam, Karan and Sandeep emerged out to be the lucky winners in singing category whereas Ravi Kumar was adjudged as winner in the dancing category. Gopal Singh, Ankit, and Himanshu baged the top spots in acting. The performances were adjudged by Sandy Mundra from Speed Records and Gazal Tomar from Connect Broadband who declared the winners on the basis of talent, confidence and stage performance.

The contestants selected after the initial audition rounds were put through the real test of their talent, when they were pitched against the chosen best of each city. City Finale was the level 2 of the 3 tier program and the winners of this level will compete at the grand finale to win the coveted title.

Videocon Connect has collaborated with Speed Records, leading music label in Punjab, to give the winner of the ‘Young Manch’ the right career amplification. The company will mentor the winner of the title to foray into the music industry and will also help them launch their own music album. The Mega Grand Finale of the event would be held at Indradhanush Auditorium, Panchkula on 8th Feb’2017 with blazing performances by Punjabi Youth heartthrob’s Babbal Rai, Gurnazar & Armaan Bedil.

Ludhiana 11th January, 2017: Videocon Connect has diversified its telecom portfolio to enter in the business of Smart Solutions (Bulk Voice and messaging business), Smart cities, Security-Surveillance and Digital Marketing, in a major step forward. Four Wi-Fi zones have already been established at Ludhiana Municipal Corporation office Zone A, Zone D, Rose Garden and Kipps Market; Sarabha Nagar Ludhiana. Company plans to establish more Free Wi-Fi Zones in Hospitals, Bus Stand and Railway Station of Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, Jan 11, 2017: With an aim to enhance the standard of education in our country in line with Government’s vision of DIGITAL INDIA, Videocon Connect, have taken a huge initiative to ensure that students get more practical education, making youth more employable. Connect Broadband has established and set up a Videocon Advanced Communication Lab at Department of Electronics & Communication of Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College.

Mr. Arvind Bali, CEO, Connect Broadband and Videocon Telecom and Dr. S.S Gill,HOD Electronics and Communication GNDEC, inaugurated the prestigious lab facility amid students and faculty members today. As technology leaders in the domain, Quadrant Televentures Limited has taken this major initiative for introduction of industry best practices with the budding engineers.

Videocon Advanced Communication Lab is equipped with latest technologies like GSM live BTS (Base Transceiver Station), CDMA live BTS (Base Transceiver Station). This would enable the students to experiment on these technologies. Earlier a MoU was signed between Quadrant Televentures Ltd, operating under brand names of Connect Broadband and Videocon Telecom; and GNDEC, for collaboration in sharing advancements in communication technology. As technology leaders in the domain;

1. A lab in the area of telecommunication namely VIDEOCON ADVANCED COMMUNICATION LAB has been established in the Electronics and Communication Engineering department of GNDEC by Connect Broadband, equipped with latest technologies, for providing a live simulation environment and to impart practical technical knowledge to the students and faculty for Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Department of GNDEC.

2. It shall help the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Department of GNDEC in developing the design facility (in AutoCAD) in the areas of wired and wireless system.

3. Setting up of the lab would benefit the faculty, Under Graduate (UG), Post Graduate (PG) and PhD students for lab experimentation, BE projects, ME / PhD Dissertation in the field of communication.

4. It shall help the industrial training, industrial tour and employment of the Under Graduate, Post Graduate students of ECE department.

5. It shall help in improving the technical skills of the faculty by providing up to date technology development training from time to time.

6. It shall provide hands on experience of live technologies and hence better technical understanding of the same.

7. It shall create the opportunity for university students to work on projects like, RF optimization, Network planning, EMF, Transmission, Broadband (DSL) etc.

8. It shall also impart the students to use the lab for exploring new and fresh innovative ideas and support for the same will be provided by Connect Broadband.

9. It shall also provide the knowledge regarding FTTH based Access Technology devices, GSM live BTS (Base Transceiver Station), CPEs & Routers and CDMA

This arrangement is on Non-commercial basis.

Speaking on the inauguration ceremony, Mr Arvind Bali, CEO, Connect Broadband and Videocon Telecom said, “We strongly believe that industry and academia have to work closely to establish centres of excellence. In international markets this has been the trend and we want to lead this culture in India as well. These engineering students are going to be the drivers of technology in future. We strongly believe that it is our responsibility to expose them to the technological developments around the globe. We have taken this initiative to ensure closer coordination with one of the most prestigious university in the region.”

“This is the fifth such lab set up by QTL (Connect Broadband & Videocon Telecom). Earlier the company has already established advanced technology labs in Chitkara University, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh University and Thapar University. Plans for setting up more labs are in the project phase. In coming months Videocon Connect propose to establish more such labs in all the leading engineering institutes. An investment of Rs 5 Cr has been earmarked for the same”, added Mr. Bali.

The thematic conference addresses the challenges in imparting and strengthening quality education in rural India. Hosted at Bharti Foundation’s Satya Bharti Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Sherpur Kalan in Ludhiana District, this is the second such conference in the annual series.

The conference series aims to cover a wide range of crucial issues related to current practices in the achievement of quality in school education, enhancing teacher capability and exploring best practices from different schools/educational institutions. In addition to providing a forum for discussion, it also promotes collaboration and intellectual exchange for all those interested in the fields of research and practice. The conference serves as a common collaborative platform for networking and knowledge sharing among thepeers of Academia.

A fashion showing was organized at the Press Meet that exhibit collections of Western Gowns, Indo – Western and Ethnic Pre bridal & Bridal Collection. The dresses carried Lustrous Silks, Chiffons, Carmeuse, and Foulard graciously embellish form fitting and flowing silhouettes that will turn any head.
