Bangalore, 22nd December 2016:  Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) was awarded first position at “The Champions Competition 2016” held in Bangalore conducted by the CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) TPM Club India. This recognition was awarded to TKM under the “Breakthrough Kaizen” Category.

This award recognizes the improvement in equipment effectiveness with an emphasis on proactive and preventative maintenance at production line, markedly increasing plant output, and while at the same time, increasing employee morale, kaizen mind and job satisfaction, to ensure equipment functions without breakdowns, malfunction or defects.

Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) system at TKM ensures overall synchronization of machines/equipment, process and employees through smooth integrity of Production & Quality systems that add business values to an organization. Our philosophy focuses on the relentless Problem Solving involving people and developing the Kaizen Culture.

Mr. R Mukundan, Chairman - CII Institute of Quality, handed over the award to the winning team at an event held in Bengaluru on the 6th December 2016. The Toyota team had successfully cleared the Kaizen Competitions held at the zonal level, going on to compete to be the "Best of Best” Kaizen Champions, where over 20 zonal winners participated.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Institute of Quality along with Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) is promoting TPM in India under "CII TPM Club" to share best practices of different companies and to enhance individual's capability.
