Telogen phase - Telogen phase follows the catagen phase. This phase is also known as the resting phase. During the telogen phase the hair follicle remains temporarily inactive from 1 to 4 months. At any given point of time 15 percent of the hair on one's head is in the telogen phase. In this phase the
epidermal cells surrounding the follicle channel grow asusual and may gather around the base of the hair, temporarily holding it in place and keeping the hair for its natural purpose without pushing the body's resources needed during the growth phase.
