BHADRACHALA RAMADASU CHARITRAMU to be held on Friday 12th February 2016 at Seva Sadan, Malleshwaram, Bengaluru.

Bangalore  3rd February 2016 :  Ramadas keertanas have been popularised by our musical genius Dr. Balamurali Krishna and this is the third edition of dance based on Bhadrachala Ramadas Keertanas. The dance is presented by eleven female dancers with 2 male dancers.

The flow of the presentation and respective krithis:

The evening begins with a short pushpanjali and a shloka in praise of the saint poet Ramadas. The shloka describes of how the dasa has fortified the lord and his consort in his heart and sings his praises.

This shloka is followed by krithi Diname Sudinamu ra choreographed by Guru Shakuntala Prabhatwhere Ramadas goes on to say the day you pray to Lord Rama itself is an auspicious day, the moment you think of Him is the most beautiful moment. When you listen to soul stirring music and bhajans that is the auspicious moment.

Rama jogi choreographed by Guru Soundarya Srivathsa - Ramdas to reconfirm his faith on his lord says to the guards in the jail Rama jogi mandu konare. It is only the medicine called Rama that can absolve us of all troubles and travails. Just meditate on the Rama mantra and He will guard you always. He goes on to request Sita devi to recommend his case to the lord and save him from these troubles. He is ignoring me and not listening to my pleas, Ramachandrulu na pai chalamu chesinaru, sitamma cheppavamma. The dancer enumerates two interesting episodes describing how Bharata takes the padukas of Srirama and places them on the throne, and how Lakshmana guards Sita devi by drawing the Lakshmana rekha.

Dasharatha Rama Govinda choreographed by Guru Poornima Gururaja

Pahimam Sri Rama Yente choreographed by Guru Poornima Gururaja - After all this reminding and requesting, Ramdas says in a sarcastic manner, Pahimam Srirama yenta palukavaithivi. Is this all your friendship is about? While I am falling at your feet and begging, you seem to be rather preoccupied and not in a mood to listen.

Charanamule Nammithe choreographed by Guru Shakuntala Prabhat.

Paluke Bangaramayane choreographed by Guru Soundarya Srivathsa.

Ikshvaku Kulatilka choreographed by Guru Shakuntala Prabhat - Ramdas enlists that for your entire Ikshavuku clan, you happily gifted wonderful jewels emeralds, corals, pearls etc, worth hundreds and thousands of Mohars don’t get exasperated that I am listing all this, I am unable to bear the beating on my back, did you not promise that you will protect all your bhaktas, please relieve me too.

Seetha Ramaswami choreographed by Guru Poornima Gururaja - Going on to taunt the lord, Ramdas says "Sitarama swamy ne chesina nerumu yemi". I did not ask you for gold, precious stones, shawls etc. All I asked you is to save me O lord and come to me dear Lord. I did not ask you to give power or position, please tell me what wrong I have done. The dancer lucidly delineates how the stunning Bhadrachala temple was built and decorated along with the utsavam of the Lord

Describing the different avatars of Lord Vishnu Ramadasu asks Rama to show sympathy towards him. Dasharatha Rama govinda nannu daya chudu pahim mukunda......

Ramachandrulu Naapai choreographed by Guru Soundarya Srivathsa.

Ye tirugananu choreographed by Guru Poornima Gururaja - Completely devastated Ramdas sings Ye tiruga nanne daya chuchedavo ina vamshothama rama. I can’t take this any more. Rama please cast your lotus eyes on me and save me from this torture. The dancer using the sanchari bhava technique takes us through three characterisations and episodes, one – the feelings of the fisherman guha when he takes the lord in his small and humble boat across the ganga, depicting the bhakta varada Srirama through the example of devout worship as Sabari and as the eternal dasa - Sri Hanuman

While he pleads, the lord finally decides to help and with Lakshmana goes to the king Tana Shah gives him the coins and takes a receipt which both brothers give the jail keeper to release Ramdas. Who wonders and then realises that only the lord can absolve him of this.

Takkuvemi Manaku choreographed by Guru Poornima Gururaja, Guru Shakuntala Prabhat and Guru Soundarya Srivathsa - In a rejoicing mood Ramdas sings Takuvemi manaku ramundokkdu ondu varuku, he describes the Matsya, Vamana, Dasharatha Rama and Krishna avatars in this krithi. Followed by the mangalam and aarathi Ramadasaya mrudula hridayakamala vasaya swami bhadra girivaraya sarva mangalam
