The Air-Purifying Bus Shelters will be set up at two prime locations of New Delhi starting with Safdarjung Hospital bus stand which sees maximum inflow of people throughout the day.

Vodafone ‘Air Purifying Bus Shelters’ is covered with plastic curtains giving it a transparent close room look and will have three industrial air purifiers installed inside. The shelter will also house an indicator-system comprising of two grids of LEDs, one displaying the level of pollution outside the shelter and the another will display the air quality measure inside the bus stop so that passengers can get to know the difference. This Air-Purifying Bus Shelter’s objective will be to provide a comparatively breathable environment to the people.

Vodafone has strategically chosen the air purifying bus shelter to be set up at Safdarjung. This is because of the large number of patients who visit AIIMS and Safdarjung hospitals from across the country. And waiting in line for a bus in a polluted environment would be even more harmful for a person already tackling health issues. Therefore this initiative is Vodafone’s way of bringing some relief to the public.

Commenting on the initiative Apoorva Mehrotra Business Head Delhi-NCR said “At Vodafone we are always looking for unique and innovative engagement opportunities that touch the lives of our customers, and this initiative is the extension of that philosophy. The alarming air quality in Delhi NCR has made us contemplate the possible ways of addressing the issue. The bus shelter is a manifestation of our ideas put together to tackle the distressing situation.”

The interiors were purposefully designed with visuals depicting a perfect scenery of the Delhi biosphere (a pure & thriving ecological environment – trees, birds, clouds, windmills, rolling grassland), giving it the essence of a clean-green environment, though their sense of sight.
