Sanjna Kapoor, Founder- Junoon Theatre Group said “I am glad to be a part of this program for the second time. It is wonderful to see how the program has progressed and the increase in school’s participation. Cinema is such a beautiful medium. It has the means to touch many lives, especially when created by children. And when it is used to educate & inform, it becomes something more special. I congratulate all the young Champions for Change for their work and for inspiring all of us.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Benjamin Cabouat, Second Counsellor, Embassy of France in India said: “The CineArt Steer to Safety program is both timely and relevant as India has the world’s largest youth population and is affected to a great extent by road issues. I am pleased to see this program combine new opportunities that technology and social networking offer with children to connect with and become more active participants. The French Government supports this initiative whole heartedly.”

Sonali Khan, Country Director, Breakthrough said “Films created by children bring fresh perspectives on road safety issues as seen by them. They play a more proactive and positive role as part of the solution rather than the problem. I have seen this program at various stages of its evolution and I feel that programs like these enable important issues like road safety become matters of public interest. I'd like to expand the notion of safety to securing harassment-free transit for women and girls. Acts of violence on roads are perpetually increasing everyday and our baseline surveys show how journeys of girls are increasingly becoming unsafe. Besides, if we want to ensure safety on roads, we all must work at it and no one shall just be a bystander.
