The 9th edition of Bengaluru International Film Festival will be held in Bengaluru and Mysuru Simultaneously. The Inauguration of the Festival will be held on the evening of Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Bengaluru. Closing Ceremony and award distribution on the evening of Thursday February 9, 2017, at Mysuru.
Regular screenings for the Delegates will commence on February 3, 2017

Quite a good number of films in Asian Category and rest of the World have reputation of having participated in other major international film festivals of Berlin, Cannes, Toronto, Goa, Mumbai, Kerala etc.,
Films made by world renowned filmmakers such as Zoltan Fabri from Hungary, Ken Loach from UK, Asghar Farhadi from Iran, Kim Ki Duk from Korea, Cristian Mungiu from Romania and others are being screened in the event.
BIFFES has two special sections: FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics)Film Critics Award Winners and NETPAC Award winners, which are always the unique features of our event.
Special thematic sections include “Cult Comedies” from France and “Women Power”, a bouquet of films by women Directors from across the world.
Documentary films section was started from the previous edition. In this edition of the festival the section is being curated by Ace Cinematographer Mr. G.S. Bhaskar and Documentary film maker Mr. Vinod Raja by bringing a retrospective of acclaimed American Cinematographer, Documentary film maker Haskell Wexler who passed away last year.
There will also be a special section on Biographical pictures generally referred to as “BIOPICS” which includes documentaries made on film makers, Writers, Artists , Musicians etc., The section includes films on Artist Van Gogh, Film Maker Fritz Lang, Poet Pablo Neruda, Kannada Scholar M. M. Kalburgi amongst others.
Invited Delegates:
Invited delegates will include film makers, journalists, Film Critics, Film festival Programmers, Academicians etc., from across the world. Large participation of Foreign Consulate officials, Foreign cultural organization representatives in India from Delhi and Bengaluru is also expected.
Indian delegates include filmmakers, Film Festival organizers and critics from Bengal, Jammu, North East, Maharashtra, Delhi, Kerala and Tamilnadu.
Workshops, Seminars and Master Classes will also be held during the course of the Festival.

6. Round table on promotion of Asian Regional Cinema at various film festivals with new initiatives. – Online promotion and distribution.
7. Interaction between film makers and Critics on Film Criticism, Book release etc., by FIPRESCI, a global collective of film critics
8. Highlights of 60 years of Karnataka with special focus on Kannada cinema – A Panel review
All the above events are scheduled to be held in one of the screens at PVR cinemas.

About Karnataka Chalanchitra Academy: Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy was formed by the Government of Karnataka in 2009 to promote film culture in Karnataka. The Academy has taken up several projects to develop a healthy film culture in the state and adopted the motto of promoting ‘Education in Cinema and Cinema in Education’. KCA has been conducting various academic activities like Script writing workshops, interaction with achievers in the field and Film Appreciation Courses in different parts of the state. Brigade Group announces Q1 FY 17 financial results
Bengaluru, August 4, 2016: Brigade Enterprises Limited’s Consolidated Revenues for the first quarter ended 30th June, 2016 were Rs. 466.4 crores, up from Rs. 441.1 crores recorded during the first quarter of the previous fiscal. The Consolidated EBIDTA increased by 11% to Rs.124.7 crores, up from Rs. 112.1 crores for the first quarter of the previous fiscal.
Commenting on the company’s performance, Mr. M.R. Jaishankar, Chairman and Managing Director, Brigade Enterprises Limited, said “We have done reasonably well in these challenging times. This is the first quarter in which the financials are declared under the new Indian Accounting Standards. The increasing commercial space demand will spruce up the residential demand in the coming quarters. Brigade Showcase event 2016, our annual property event held recently was well received and we are quite optimistic about the inherent demand in all the domains that we operate in the near future.”

Ø Total Revenues stood at Rs 466.4 crores vis-a-vis Rs 441.1 crores, an increase of 6%

Ø Total Revenues stood at Rs. 407.4 crores vis-a-vis Rs. 384.8 crores, an increase of 6%
Ø EBITDA stood at Rs 116.8 crores vis-a-vis to Rs. 101.7 crores, an increase of 15%.
Ø EBITDA margin stood at 28.7% vis-à-vis 26.4%.
Ø PAT stood at Rs. 26.5 crores vis-a-vis Rs. 27.8 crores, a decrease by 5%.
Consolidated Operational Performance
Ø Real Estate space aggregating to 0.37 million sq. ft with a total value of Rs. 212.2 crores was sold during the first quarter ending 30th June, 2016. The average price realisation was Rs. 5,715 per sq. ft.
Ø During the quarter, two projects were launched – WTC Kochi Phase II and Four Points by Sheraton (Kochi)
Ø Leasing and Hospitality segments contributed Rs. 57.5 crores and Rs. 46.1 crores respectively to the consolidated revenues for the first quarter ended 30th June, 2016.
Ø The Debt Equity ratio (net) of the Company on 30th June, 2016 is 0.98:1 . Credit rating of "A" has been assigned by both CRISIL and ICRA with stable and positive outlook respectively.

The 9th edition of Brigade Group’s exclusive property exhibition ‘Brigade Showcase 2016’ was held on 23rd July, 2016 and 24th July, 2016 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel at Brigade Gateway. Actor Irrfan Khan promotes Madaari at Orion Mall, Malleswaram
Bangalore, July 4th 2016: Actor Irrfan Khan recently visited Orion mall for the promotion of the movie Madaari. Hi s comments on the traditions of fasting during Ramzan and sacrifice during Bakri Eid has got sharp rebuttal from the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) member Zafaryab Gilabi, who condemned the actor by saying that he is not a religious leader and his advice is not needed. Maulana Khatri, secretary of Jamaat-e-Ulema-e-Hind also criticised him for his comments.
Yoga session at Orion Mall Panvel organized by Art of Living
