04 March 2017, Hyderabad: CII Young Indians Hyderabad chapter organized a one day Summit on ‘Ignite – Discussing Innovation and Entrepreneurship’, as a part of CII-Yi (Hyderabad Chapter) Annual Day deliberations, here today.

The objective of the Summit is to create a platform for young entrepreneurs and start-ups to understand various nuances of entrepreneurial learning.  

In the inaugural keynote address, Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Executive Chairman, Cyient Ltd. opined that Indian society needs a change in mindset to breed innovation. “India has the history and need to do innovation in the country for which an innovation mindset need to be developed by making it a part and parcel of learning at the school level. For innovation to succeed five points need to be considered: ability to challenge the status-quo; ability to tolerate failure; ability to persist with ideas; ability to work in teams; and open innovation”, he said.

Citing the example of Uber and PayTM, the Padmashree Awardee pointed out that it is technology that breeds further technology and gives a multiplier effect in terms of productivity and job creation. “Innovation has to be a responsibility of everyone in the organization”, he said.

Mr. CK Kumaravel, CEO & Co-Founder, Naturals Salon, encouraged the participants to believe in their capabilities and keep learning continuously. “If you want to earn more, learn more”, he said.

Mr. Kumaravel shared his life experiences and talked about the galvanizing moments in his life that helped his dreams come true. “Believe in yourself and try to make a difference”, he said.  

Ms. Katherine Hadda, Consul General, US Consulate General Hyderabad, in her keynote address during an exclusive session on ‘US Entrepreneurship’, opined that technology is changing fast and one has to be prepared for disruption. “The notion of disruption is faster now than a decade ago and hence one need to be prepared”, she said.

Ms. Hadda mentioned that the US Consulate is working with various organizations to support social entrepreneurship and women entrepreneurship in addition to entrepreneurship in the field of science and technology.

Mr. Srinivas Kollipara, Founder & CEO, T-Hub, in his special address, mentioned that T-Hub looks into everything that makes start-ups successful. “Government should not be running the shows but should support it and T-Hub is a good example”, he said.

Dr. Chandrashekar, DP, Chair, CII-Yi (Hyderabad Chapter), in his address opined that the success mantra for any budding entrepreneur is not to wait for a right time but to make the time right. "when you have the spark, do not wait for the time but make the time right", he said

Earlier, Mr. Nrupender Rao, Chairman, CII Telangana and Chairman, Pennar Industries Ltd, welcomed the delegates and congratulated Dr.BVR Mohan Reddy on receiving Padma Shri award for his contribution to industrial development.
 
The summit also had some of the key successful innovative entrepreneurs who make their mark in the field, like – Mr. Ramesh Loganathan, Professor, Co-Innovation & Research/Innovation outreach Head, IIT Hyderabad; Ms. Anu Acharya, CEO, Mapmygenome India Ltd.; Mr. Abhijeet Pai, Director, Puzzolana Group, besides many others.

During the valedictory session, Mr. Suhas Gopinath, the Youngest CEO in the world, will facilitate Ignite Entrepreneurs under two categories:

Mr. Raghu Kanchustambham - Social Entrepreneur for the year 2017
Mr. Rahaman, Young Entrepreneur for the year 2017
