Girish R Gowda Wins “Gold Medal ” at WAKO India Cadet & Junior National Kickboxing Championship 2016-2017


Bengaluru  2nd  February  2017 : A professional kick boxer, personal trainer and a fighter, based out of Bengaluru, Mr. Girish R Gowda  has recently won Gold Medal at  WAKO India Cadet & Junior National Kickboxing Championship 2016-2017 and Federation Cup Senior National which was held  at Talkatora Stadium New Delhi on 15th to 19th January 2017  and has brought laurels to Indian sports.

Following  were the winners of WAKO India Cadet & Junior National Kickboxing Championship 2016-2017 and Federation Cup Senior National from Bengaluru .

K1 Rules- Shatrugna - Gold Medal in 91 Kg, Girish R Gowda - Gold Medal in 86 Kg, Sanjith Ramesh - Silver Medal in 81 Kg, Ajith Kumar- Silver Medal in 76 Kg, Ishan Govardhan- Bronze Medal in 71 Kg and Dilip Kumar- Bronze Medal 71 Kg (Low Kick rules)

If we put a glance on  Girish’s  life, we come across so many amazing things that is so inspiring to the youth. He faced many difficulties at a nascent stage of his carrier but managed to reach to his current supreme level. He states that he has many more dreams to achieve and the story has just begun. He says that he will always remain indebted and obliged to the people who have supported in his difficult times. Currently, his complete focus is on the upcoming international tournaments which he intends to win, but this journey would definitely need a lot of financial support which could only be procured through right sponsors who can take care of this dream. His mentor, Satish Mittal who has always been there as his backbone was once heard saying “ Girish has emerged as one of the sports icons in India with his sheer hard work and dedication and will keep inspiring the India youth and the sports fraternity for the years to come”

Girish was born on February 9, 1986 in Bengaluru. He has been fighting in the middleweight and heavyweight categories.  At the age of 18 he started his training in Kickboxing. In the sports arena, he is well known for his toughness, technique, hunger for victory and will to fight attitude. Girish started his career as a mechanic and then worked as sales representative in Horlicks before becoming a team leader in Airtel. Currently he is working as personal trainer at Kaizen Fitness JP Nagar, Bengaluru.
