Phoenix Marketcity brings yet another thematic exhibition-cum-sale of Indian handicrafts for the development and promotion of the underprivileged artisans of India. An initiative by Government of India to promote underprivileged artisans who belongs to the weaker section of the society organizing such an exhibition in 15 various cities at prestigious Malls, Haats, Museums, Exhibition Centres etc.
20 - 25 artisans awarded by the President of India for their excellent craftsmanship from various parts of the country will participate in the event and more than 200 products of Indian handicrafts will be displayed in a thematic manner. The ultimate aim of the event is to enhance the income of these artisans for the betterment of their livelihoods and to provide an excellent platform to showcase their skills.
National Centre for Design and Product Development (NCDPD), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi is working to fill up the gap in the areas of design and product development in the Indian Handicrafts sector. NCDPD has a strong team of national and international designers providing an array of services to the industry.
