Celebrating Pongal festival with our family members is one of the happiest things we expect. For this we travel from near and far to meet our family members. When the family is big say 10 to 15, then happines is multiplied by 10. Think how it would be when you celebrate Pongal with family of 900 to 1000. Also, when the family members comes from various backgrounds joy knew no bounds. That was the scenario in Green Field Convent Matriculation School during this pongal. For this year, School management has invited parents of all students to celebrate the pongal function at school. By this activity, all the students were nurtured with the sense of unity among their friends. They also learnt about traditional way followed for celebrating Pongal function. Mr. Ranganathan K N, Correspondent of Green Field Convent Matriculation who presided the function, quoted “Many of the current generation kids are not having knowledge of our tradition and culture. They forget our values. These kind of activities should be done on regular basis so that our culture is followed always.”. Also, Mr. Rajendran N, Principal of Green Field Convent Matriculation whose brainchild was this function “I am really excited to see the involvement of our kids in this function. They have learnt a lot about teamwork and our traditions”.
