Notion Press hosts Global Travel Unconferece with Kiruba Shankar

The event provided a platform for travel enthusiasts to learn and share ideas on how to travel the world on a budget

December 18th, 2016, Chennai: Notion Press, India’s largest self-publishing platform, supported an unconference on ‘'How to Travel the World on a Tight Budget' this weekend in the city.
The special unconference, hosted by popular blogger and social media specialist Kiruba Shankar, helped travel enthusiasts to learn and share their experience on how to travel to the world on a budget.
Kiruba Shankar, CEO, Business Blogging said, ‘There is no dearth of exotic tourist locations waiting to be explored, but a number of factors need to be kept in mind before embarking on a vacation. We are inundated with advice about the nuts and bolts of a trip, but we hear little about the mechanics – the why and how we should go. There’s times when the human element is the key and must play its part. The main philosophical issue is deciding how to balance cost control and savings versus the traveler experience. There is a sweet spot, though it is different for every individual.”
The unconference provided aspiring travelers an exciting platform to set the agenda, exchange ideas, share their stories on their passion and journey, and learn from each other. Participants also got an opportunity to interact with 4 experts who are famous and extensive travelers. They have successfully travelled to dozens of countries and shared some amazing tips, techniques and unique hacks to travel the world without pinching pockets.

“Everyone’s life is rich in experiences, which make for a great book. Showcasing this to the world, in the form of fact or fiction, poetry or prose, or even in a form of blog is the best way for travelers to share their experiences and explore various other opportunities. Some people make a good living as a travel writer. But to start with this one has to understand the nuances of travelling without pinching their pockets,” says Naveen Valsakumar, CEO and Co-Founder, Notion Press.

“Today, travel writing is much more than publishing articles in a magazine or in a newspaper. Writers are publishing articles on blogs, online magazines, and other online platforms. A travel writer explores new destinations and shares observations with others using the written word. The unconference was a step in that direction,” he adds.

One of the participants shared, “We all love to unwind and travel and yet fail to understand on how to plan these budget trips. It’s best to understand from the experts who have already done so. This also helps us understand where are we going wrong and how we should get this started with. This unconference helped us to plan our way and how we can travel without burning our pockets.”
Mr. Pravin was very excited to be part of the unconference. She said, “It was a great conference to absorb a ton of information across several travel verticals.  We have now formed our own group as well. I am happy I attended it.

The unconference was held on Sunday (December 18th, 2016) at Notion Press office from 3 p.m.to 7 p.m.
