Apollo Hospitals - Brain dead man gives new lease of life to 3 people


December 8th, 2016, Mumbai: 
50 year old Mahipal Singh, from Kamothe, had met with an accident on Tuesday, December 6th 2016 at Uran Highway, in Navi Mumbai. He was brought to Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai, in a critical condition with severe head injury. In spite of the all the treatment, he did not recover and eventually was declared brain dead on Wednesday, December 7th, 2016, as per the protocols. The treating Doctors educated the family on organ donation and with the support of ZTCC [Zonal Transplant Coordination Center], the family agreed to donate his organs with all generosity.

His liver and both the kidneys are being transplanted at private hospitals in Mumbai, giving a new lease of life to 3 people.
