“With these quality assurance courses, we are laying the foundation for a sustainable implementation of high quality world-class skilling in India,” says Chandra Kumar, Founder, Co-Chairman & CEO of SkillSonics in Bangalore. The core objective of the Quality Assurance Project is to improve the practical, methodological and didactic skills of the trainers and managers involved in vocational training. It is a two-year project that is taking place from September 2015 to August 2017. In the first year the focus is on developing occupational profiles for VET teachers and trainers, and validating courseware for training modules in accordance with Swiss standards.

SkillSonics and its Swiss partners have designed a series of programs based on Swiss curricula design methodology to ensure outcomes that are in line with the requirements of the Indian ecosystem and meet international standards. Master trainers from the sector organization of the Swiss Engineering, Electrical and Metal Industries (Swissmem), the Swiss Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (SFIVET), the Mechatronic School Winterthur (MSW) and the Technical Training Center Winterthur (AZW) as well as from SkillSonics in India ensure an efficient and thorough application. SkillSonics’ customers such as ABB, ACC, ACE Foundation, Ambuja Cement, Bobst, Buhler, Burckhardt Compression, EFD Induction, GMM Pfaudler, Rieter and other companies and institutes are sending their trainers to be trained in India under the Quality Assurance Project.
