About GIFLIF

Inception

Good literature is precursor to good film and both are dependent entities. Realising this fact, the conceptualisation of GIFLIF dates back to 2012 and after incessant efforts for the next 3 years a long cherished dream could finally be brought to life during the chilling winters of Gurgaon in December 2015. The first edition of GIFLIF received an amazing response from film and literature enthusiasts, media and GIFLIF speakers. This was the inception of arguably the first ever film and literature and of brand GIFLIF.

Vision and Mission

GIFLIF after its Gurgaon chapter would be treading a new path by travelling to all corners of India with the aim to bridge cultural gaps and connect India with the essence of Film and Literature. GIFLIF would travel to Kashmir (north), Bhopal (centre), Shillong (east), Kutch (west) and culminate at peninsula of Kanyakumari, confluence of Bay of Bengal, Arabian sea and Indian ocean, in the year 2021. The six chapters of GIFLIF would be an annual event with nearly 20 editions by the year 2020. The conclave in Kanyakumari will also draw parallels between the confluence of two oceans and the confluence of film and literature, and will usher a new revolution of finest minds of films and literature coming together on an unprecedented scale, this would be completion of the first five year plan for GIFLIF with six running chapters.
The paraphernalia of GIFLIF geography also aims to promote the vernacular spirit of film and literature without losing the essence of Indianness.
