HCL Concerts Presents Varanasi – A Gateway to Moksha

India 18 November 2016: Varanasi – A Gateway to Moksha: Varanasi, an ancient yet vibrant city has eternally been linked with the attainment of peace and salvation and believed to be the holiest of all pilgrimage sites. It is a city predominated by the holy Ganges, which flows gently, absorbing the sins of millions. Through the medium of film and slides, time honored characteristics of Varanasi are highlighted, including temples, the ghats and the beautiful evening aarti. This is a city associated with religious rites that leads one to the cessation of the cycle of birth and rebirth.

Jyotsna Shourie: Internationally renowned dancer and choreographer, Jyotsna Shourie is recognized as one of the finest exponents of Bharatanatyam. She humbly acknowledges the huge debt she owes to her Guru Sri Kalyanasunderam Pillai. She established her dance company The Jyotsna Shourie’s Dance Centre in New Delhi in 1990 as a learning center for the skills and values of Bharatanatyam. Her productions include The Sound of Music, The Birth of Jesus, The Radha Chalisa, The Gita Govindam, Alice in Wonderland, Noddy in Nrityaland, Krishna Chalisa, Varanasi - A Gateway to Moksha, Tradition and Inspiration, Cosmic Rhythms and Face to Face.
