Following a pitch process, Contract India has earned the mandate for AirAsia’s brand communication programme. AirAsia (India) Ltd is a joint venture between Tata Sons Limited & AirAsia, with AirAsia Investment Limited holding 49%, Tata Sons Limited holding 49% and Mr. S. Ramadorai (Chairman) and Mr. R. AirAsia submitted an application to the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) of India in February 2013 and received a formal approval in April 2013, followed by the No Objection Certificate (NOC) in September 2013 & Air Operating Permit (AOP) in May, 2014. AirAsia India commenced operations on 12th June 2014 and currently flies to Bengaluru, Kochi, Goa, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Pune, New Delhi, Guwahati, Imphal, Vizag and Hyderabad with a fleet of 8 A320 aircraft. Amar Abrol is the CEO of AirAsia India.
