Speaking on the hospital’s partnership with the event, Bangaluru City 10K Run, the Dr. Johnson, Director of St Martha’s said, “The run was organized for a good cause and saw participation from a number of social groups, each dedicated to a cause – growing trees, eradicating hunger and more. To see such an enthusiastic group of people, coming out in large numbers on a weekend shows that support for those less fortunate is immense and so is the work being done for them. We believe in being part of such causes and providing what we do best, quality care”.

St Martha’s Hospital and staff had a meticulous plan in place to ensure that seamless medical care was available all through the route for the participants. Ambulances were deployed at the start and finish points, with two also placed at the 5KM mark. Hydration and entertainment stations were located all along the route to ensure runners had easy access to refreshments.

“I was running the 5K marathon for the first time and needed hydration more often than I thought I would,” said Mr. Velu, a participant in the marathon. “It was encouraging to see well manned counters across the route with an organized system of offering refreshments. It did not impede the pace at which runners were going and this was a great thing”.

The run was flagged off at 6.15AM from the Indiranagar Club and lasted close to 2.5 hours. On completion of the marathon all participants were provided with a sumptuous breakfast and commemorative T-shirt.
