“IGNITE 2016” – A WORKSHOP ON PREVENTING HOSPITAL ACQUIRED INFECTIONS"

 Department of Hospital Infection Control at Narayana Health City, organized ‘IGNITE – 2016’, a workshop on preventing hospital acquired infections, today at Narayana Health City, Bangalore. The interactive session saw participation from 55 hospitals and 215 delegates. The all day session highlighted the importance of preventing hospital acquired infections, the precautionary methods to be taken for ventilated patients, prevention of surgically spread infections and the importance of engineering in hospital’s infection control departments. 

Doctors at Narayana Health also demonstrated the innovative methods adopted by Narayana Health to control the spread of infection. The Hospital Infection Control Molecular Lab at Narayana Health City is a dedicated lab to come up with molecular solutions to prevent hospital acquired infections at low cost. The lab has been instrumental in mastering many molecular techniques which control the spread of these contagious infections at Narayana Health centres. The doctors instrumental in setting up the lab at Narayana Health City, spoke on the importance of combined efforts required by the Government; by working towards the betterment of the patients through improved care and protecting lives from hospital acquired infections.
