Carrier Midea India Partners with Kohinoor Technical Institute Provides Training in Air Conditioning Segment

This initiative is in line with Prime Minister’s ‘Skill India’ vision and focuses on creating skilled manpower for the Air Conditioning & Refrigeration domain which is facing major talent crunch.

KTI and Carrier Midea India together aspire to create a benchmark in the Indian Air Conditioning sector with special focus on light commercial segment. The classroom training will be provided at the state of the art KTI institutes while On the Job [OJT] practical training will be imparted at KTI labs well equipped with Midea machines as well as Service Stations. The aim of the program is to provide best in class theoretical and practical knowledge to boost the employability quotient of the trainees.

Air Conditioning & Refrigeration domain is facing a major challenge due to paucity of training infrastructure, industry driven training curriculum especially at the entry level, covering new technologies like Variable Refrigerant Flow [VRF], absence of quality trainers and career options post vocational training.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Krishan Sachdev, Managing Director of Carrier Midea India said “We are very positive about this initiative and believe it will provide an impetus to the HVAC industry especially at entry level and upgrade technical skills with hands on experience to the trainees to provide quality service to the discerning Indian customer. In line with the philosophy of Carrier Midea India, we intend to bring affirmative change in lives of the trainees. There is a huge demand-supply gap for skilled manpower in the sector. We will also train the existing trainers to upgrade their skill-set.”

Carrier Midea India along with KTI will be designing specialized modules which would be available at select KTI branches.

KTI CEO & Director Mr. Sameer Joshi says, “It’s a very happy moment for KTI to partner with Carrier Midea India to launch our newly upgraded courses in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration sector. We will be soon launching our Centre of Excellence [COE] as a part of the PMKK (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra) and Carrier Midea India will provide us course content and tools & equipment to set up India’s first, the most ideal Air Conditioning & Refrigeration laboratory.”
