July 14th, 2016, Turkey: After her stellar showing at the Junior National Aquatic Championships, Damini Gowda competed at the 16th Gymnasiade ISF World Schools Championship in Trabzon, Turkey. The 17-year-old swimming in the 100m Freestyle, finished 11th with a timing of 1:01.64 amidst fierce competition.
Damini was determined to put in a better performance and make it possible to win a medal in her next event. "I anticipated tough competition at an event like this and while basking in the competition, I am also aiming to be at my best, unfortunately yesterday was not my best performance and look forward to stronger performances in the next events.
