22nd July 2016, New Delhi: UBM Index Trade Fairs, host of the flagship show, Index, inaugurated its 2nd edition of India Kitchen and Bath show 2016 ( 22-24 July at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi ). The show was inaugurated by eminent industry designers and dignitaries, Mr. Pratap Jadhav: IIID- All India President, Ar. Radhika Viswanathan, Chairperson, IIID- Delhi Chapter, Ar. Supported by the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID), All India Hardware Association, Hospitality Purchasing Managers Forum, Indian council of ceramic tiles & sanitary ware,endorsed by the India Design Council (IDC) & Knowledge Partner National Institute of Design the three day show brought together buyers and traders in kitchen and bath equipments, OEM white goods, accessories, kitchen and bath furniture and fittings, lighting products with architects, interior designers, builders, project managers, consultants, procurement heads across the hospitality, corporate and government sectors. Renowned companies such as Hafele, Geberit, Godrej Interio, Century Ply, Kkolar, Labacha, Saniflo, Hardwyn, Blum, Liebherr, Nagold, Glint Faucets, Lifetime, Brassage, Ecostone, JB Glass, Slimline, Karcher, Wadbros, Aquarium Bath, Sanituf, Mahalaxmi lumbers, Supreme Solar, Venus and Surajwood amongst others, displayed their products and offerings.
Highlights of the show include the Sculpture Zone, presented by Aura Art showcasing sculptures by artists such as ( Sculptors) Suresh Kumar, Asurvedh, Pradeep Jogdand, Pardeep Kumar and (Painters) Tejinder Kanda, Veguri Ravindra Babu, Vikash Kalra, Madan Lal. It also includes KUDOS, the popular showcase honouring inspirational work of top 15 eminent architects of India. The fair is also marked by knowledge forums, seminars and will also see a presentation on the ‘India Design Mark’ by The India Design Council, to promote innovations of budding Architects & Designers of the industry.
One of the highlights of the event include ‘Design Yatra’, an all India initiative by the Institute of Indian Interior Designers ( IIID ) to spread design in the masses. Design Yatra is a convoy of four nano cars that was inaugurated at the National convention of IIID at Indore in February 2016. The convoy which is commencing its journey from IKB 2016, will campaign in about 30 cities comprising IIID’s regional chapters and centers that will organise a number of events around the theme “Design for the masses.” The second day of the event will feature the Interactive knowledge seminar “A treat in retreat” by Ar. Tony Joseph and IIID,
Delhi chapter along with the Flag off ceremony of “Design Yatra” which is expected be attended by over 80 eminent Architects.
Speaking at the inauguration of the 2nd edition of India Kitchen and Bath Show, Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director, UBM India said, “The luxury market in India is growing at a CAGR of 25 per cent over the last couple of years.
