,  Huawei India R&D Center announced that its employees undertook a campaign to provide books and other stationery material to the students of Nallurahalli Government School in Whitefield, Bengaluru.

The R&D center which employs nearly 3000 engineers conducted a campaign among its employees to collect books, clothes, toys, etc to be given away to needy children, as a part of employee volunteerism. The employees made generous contributions with large quantity of books and other stationery items such as pencil boxes, colour pencil sets, sketch pens, geometry boxes, drawing books, etc being collected during a 2-day campaign. The items were donated to the Nallurahalli Government School which is situated near Huawei’s new R&D campus in Whitefield, Bengaluru.

Shri Arvind Limbavali, ex-Minister for Higher Education and MLA of Mahadevapura Constituency was the Chief Guest at the donation activity which was conducted at the school. The school which has primary and middle sections has a strength of 236 students. Every student received a set of books and stationery items. 

Mr. William Zhao, Chief Operating Officer of Huawei India R&D Center, who was also present at the donation ceremony said “Huawei advocates community development and encourages its employees as well in contributing to the betterment of under-privileged children. We believe that sustainable development is possible only when organizations align their corporate goals to social developments of societies that they operate in.”

The company will also support Akshaya Patra with food distribution vehicles and a kitchen upgrade programme.
