Mumbai, TATA ClassEdge, a leading provider of innovative technology based learning solutions for schools, today announced the winners of its ClassEdge Classroom Champion (“CCC”) competition. Ms. Gayatri Mandar Thakur, a teacher from M.V.P. Samaj’s Horizon Academy, Nashik has been declared as the National Winner. CCC launched by Tata ClassEdge for the first time, recognised teachers who have been flag bearers in the adoption of technology in classroom teaching. The winners were felicitated by Dr. Mukund Rajan - Member- Group Executive Council and Brand Custodian, Tata Sons. Over 1500 teachers, from more than 250 schools spread across the country, participated in the competition and 12 teachers were shortlisted for the finals.

At the occasion, Dr. Mukund Rajan - Member- Group Executive Council and Brand Custodian, Tata Sons said, “Tatas are proud of their pioneering contributions to the field of education. We are happy that Tata ClassEdge is taking this tradition forward, and is creating opportunities for teachers to collaborate, creatively use technology and learn from each other.” Nirav Khambhati, CEO of Tata ClassEdge, added, “TATA ClassEdge believes that the role of technology is to empower teachers. CCC is our effort to recognize teachers who have adopted technology creatively in the classroom and make their best practices widely available.”

CCC was rolled out in January 2016 and evaluations were conducted at three levels, namely the school, regional and zonal level, to identify the top 12 teachers eligible for participation in the finals of CCC scheduled in Mumbai on 25th and 26th of April. A panel of eminent educators and academicians judged the presentations that the teachers made to demonstrate the innovative use of technology blended with effective hands-on learning methods in classroom. The second and third place winners (tie for the third place) are, Mr. Ravesh Kumar Rohekar from Jnan Vikas Mandal’s New English School, Thane and Ms. Bhawna Khosla and Ms. Sunitha R Nair from Gillco International, Mohali and KTCT Higher Secondary School, Thiruvananthapuram respectively.
