DP World Chennaienhances infrastructure to eliminate congestion at Chennai Port


DP World operated Chennai Container Terminal with the support of the Chennai Port Trust has been takingsignificant steps to reduce congestionat the port. The infrastructure at the North Gate has been recently enhanced to facilitate smooth movement of empty trailers to the terminal.

The road approaching North Gate, CCTPL through the erstwhile ‘Iron Ore Area’ which was previously made of mud has been redeveloped with tar. This newly constructed road has further improved smooth movement of trucks to and fro from the terminal.

The opening ofthis redevelopment was held in presence of The Chennai and Ennore Steamer Agents Association (CHENSAA) Chairman, Mr. Leeladharan and Vice Chairman – Mr. C. R. Raghavendra; Chennai Custom House Agents Association (CCHAA) Vice President, Mr. Bhujangaram & Secretary, Mr. Natarajan along with DP World Chennai CEO, Mr. K. K. Krishnadas.

Commenting on this development, Mr. K. K. Krishnadas, CEO, DP World Chennai said, “DP World has always been at the forefront to implement progressive methods for the ease of doing business. We are confident that this redevelopment willnot only eliminate congestion at Chennai Portbut will also increase Terminal operations efficiency by smooth flow of traffic.”

The inauguration was followed by flagging off of the trailer vehicles at the gate and emphasizing on the message of maintaining highest standards of safety with the usage of Safety Vests by the trailer drivers.
