New Delhi: Designer Dheeru & Nitika presented their collection The Heritage at India Runway Week The collection was showcased on Saturday at the Thyagraj Stadium in New Delhi.
Spring Summer Collection ’16 collection The Heritage “Enchanting craft from the past” is a tribute to the mesmerizing intricate historic craftsmanship of varied cultures and religions. Opulent form of Moghul zardosi and kasav woven in delicate floral motifs, sitara and nalkinetted in a contemporary form, Kanta (Bengal) resham work webbed with beautiful antique moti in its most exquisite form. A colour palette that is depiction of bright summers hues for a fun event to subdued and deep hues for the special occasion. The silhouettes are inspired from the yester years of Parisian fashion. Cowl drapes, mermaid cuts, wired corsets and crinoline structured gowns well amalgamated with contemporary cut jackets and innovating drapes.
The collection was infused with the elements past and present beautifully to bring out a creation for the modern woman.
The 3 day fashion gala of the budding Indian designers was welcomed with full dynamism and glitz by the audience. The Spring Summer Collections’16 was marvellous in its own divine way.
About the Designer
'd&n by Dheeru and Nitika' is a bespoke designer fashion label that break through the norms of style by creative amalgamation of rich textile and Indian craftsmanship with international silhouettes. The collection embodies a great range of concept saree gowns, dreamy silhouettes, cocktail gowns, elaborate drape skirts, hand embroidered jackets, corsets and a lot more.
Label d&n is a brain child of head designers Dheeru Sagar and Nitika Kanodia. Though originally from other field of studies, they were always inclined towards fashion and creative art. Their source of inspiration has always been a blend of two worlds and heritage together.
Being born and brought up in an Indian society they have grown up seeing a reflection of rich Indian art and craft in their ancestors endows. However, during their journey from being a media professional and lawyer to being a fashion designer they were fascinated by the silhouettes adorned by Parisian woman of late 80's and early 90's. They made that as a base of their inspiration and created a whole new range of collection keeping modern Indian woman in mind. The collection is a beautiful amalgamation of Indian heritage embroidery creatively infused with Parisian silhouettes.
