Mumbai, 21st April 2016: Wicked Ride, a luxury bike rental company, has announced that it has bagged the prestigious contract from The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) for providing last-mile connectivity to commuters using the Bangalore Metro.
Wicked Ride through its utility arm Apna Ride will provide electric and non-electric mobility systems (Two Wheelers) on hire for last-mile connectivity at the Indiranagar, Trinity, Byapanahalli, Mantri Square and Peenya metro stations at Bangalore.
BMRCL had recently proposed to grant licenses for operating two-wheeler mobility service systems to provide the last-mile connectivity to commuters at nine Metro stations. This will enable commuters to travel short distances for work.
“The primary objective of this initiative was to provide a viable option for Bangalore Metro commuters to hire two wheelers at Metro stations for their local commute” said Vivekananda HR, Co-founder of Wicked Ride. “They can go to the Apna Ride two-wheeler rental kiosk at the station, hire the two-wheeler, finish work, come back to the station and dock the vehicle again or leave it at any of the designated docking locations across the city”.
“Wicked Ride, the pioneer in Bike Rental, is absolutely pleased to bag this prestigious contract from BMRCL to serve a critical need of commuters most of whom have last –mile connectivity issues. We would be putting up a counter at the allotted area in each of the 5 stations to carry out motorcycle rentals. Our facility will be available all seven days of the week with adequate manpower from 5.00 am to 11.00 pm ” added Vivekananda HR.
“This is the first time any of the Metro in India is tying up for last mile connectivity. We are excited and we are in discussion with other Metro Rails across India” concluded Vivekananda HR.

Headquartered in Bengaluru, Wicked Ride, a start-up, was founded in 2014 by three friends, Vivekananda H.R., Anil G and Varun Agni, who did not find options to rent motorcycles (especially high end luxury bikes) in Bengaluru at the time. Realizing that there is a rather new audience to cater to, they set up a company and started renting bikes starting from Royal Enfield to Harley-Davidson. They believe in making your dream come true as a biker – be it riding the premium bikes or experiencing the inexplicable joy of riding in the best biking destinations.
