Uber Chennai in collaboration with Election Commission's SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation) department, held a session for driver partners at Ripon Building this morning, educating them on the importance of voting and encouraging them to spread awareness on voting for the upcoming elections.
This is part of their UberVotesForTN campaign. Shri R.Barathidasan, Officer and Smt. D.Ranjini, Nodal Officer - SVEEP department and team officials spoke to driver partners on the Uber platform. The session lasted 2 hours and covered a broad range of topics such as the election process, ethical voting and a few examples from the #TN100percent campaign.
Uber drivers will now be interacting with riders to explain the importance of ethical voting and educate them about helpline numbers and social media channels. They will also distribute pamphlets and encourage riders to vote on May 16th.
