On a spree to break his chocolate boy image, actor Harshad Arora is currently seen playing the role of an IAS officer in STAR Plus’ finite series, Dahleez. To add another feather to his talent, Harshad is learning the beautiful Indian classical dance form -Bharatanatyam.
Being pioneer among his contemporaries to learn this dance form, Harshad is taking training to learn Bharatanatyam to impress his on-screen lady love, Swadheenta Ramakrishnan (played by Tridha Choudhury) as Adarsh Sinha. Adarsh’s character on screen is a victim of love at first sight. In order to impress Swadheenta he is trying to woo her in many ways, Bharatanatyam being one of them.
“When I took this show, I knew I had to work really hard to impress the audience and accept me in a different role. In the process, the show expected me to learn Bharatanatyam as I had to impress Swadheenta. I was always in awe of these dancers as they are so graceful and elegant. I never knew someday I’ll be taking training for this particular dance form. We wrap up with our shoots and I rush for my practices, making sure I give at least 2 hours to it. I’m very eager to learn it on a personal level too, which is why removing time from my schedule and putting in those extra efforts is no big deal for me,” says Harshad Arora.
By performing Bharatanatyam on-screen Harshadwill be the first TV actor on Hindi GEC doing something unconventional like this. However as Adarsh, he only hopes to succeed in impressing Swadheenta on screen as well as the audience.
Watch Harshad Arora as Adarsh Sinha on Dahleez every day at 10.30pm only on STAR Plus.
