New Delhi, April 29th, 2016: Known for his exquisite ensembles, leading fashion designer Abhishek Gupta launched his flagship store in the capital on 27th April 2016. The launch was celebrated over an evening of style and sophistication with guests enjoying cocktails and canapés. The flagship store comprises of Abhishek’s latest ensembles - elegant, classic and effortless for both men and women.

Abhishek has curated a unique Listening Room within the flagship store and engaged his guests with a first-hand experience of his one-of-a kind room. Inserted as a ‘floating’ cube in the store, the Listening Room allows for a classical layout that flows around it. Encompassed with high-end audio equipment the Listening Room is the highlight of the store’s overall experience.

Abhishek hosted a night to remember with music meeting high fashion and guests tapping their toes to the tunes of popular, multi-talented musicians Ashwin and Jayant who created a lively ambience with their music. The successful launch event saw guests dancing the night away and enjoying the vibe of the store.

Abhishek’s flagship store embodies his approach in creating signature styles that are contemporary yet deeply rooted in Indian craft. Painted in a deep charcoal tone with an overlay of gold foil detailing, geometric patterns in varying scale across mediums gives a modern and edgy vibe to the store.

Apart from family and friends, guests from New Delhi’s fashion fraternity and the elite in attendance were present at the do, some of them included Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Dipika Bharti Mittal, Ravi Shankar Etteth, V. Abhishek Gupta 

Known for luxurious embroidery and intricate detailing, Designer Abhishek Gupta’s collection is a mix of Indian and Indo-Western looks presenting the finest work of quilting, tone on tone work and appliqué. A key element represented in the collections, which is also at the heart of the label, is the attention to silhouette and structure of the designs.

The primary silhouettes include straight kurta and kalidaar silhouettes. The Kalidaar silhouettes have multiple kaalis joined together and are engineered over panels with the artwork running across the panels, making it flow seamlessly.

The collections works around simple lines and observant detail, created using innovatively devised techniques for both machine and handwork embroidery that is crafted in a way, which could almost replicate weaves, prints or brocade work.

The garments, shaped with fine and intricate details are in shades of summer and vary from each collection retailed at the store. The colour palate is an eclectic mix of deep sea green, fuchsia pink to mellow colours in saffron, tangerine, aqua, pinks and soft pastels.

Men’s collection 
The men’s collection includes two techniques – textures and embroidery. The collection comprises of fine dori work, stitched detail and fabric on fabric quilting, thread work, shadow work with dori, simple thread work and pintucks.

Shadow work with dory applique and quilting work are some of the signature elements of Abhishek’s collections. The collection stand apart as the garments are finished to fine detail and created the fabric himself.

The Collection ranges from kurtas, Nehru jackets, formal shirts and band-galas.

Abhishek Gupta, winner of the Air France International Young Fashion Designers Award was the proud recipient of “Breakthrough Designer 2004” at the Kingfisher Fashion Awards & “Breakthrough Designer” at MTV Style Awards 2007. A graduate from NIFT in fashion design, he worked with couturier Rohit Bal before starting on his own.

 Abhishek has a line of classic Indian clothes for men and women, which he sells under his own name. Known for his great attention to cut and structure and his clothes portray a freshness of perspective, simple lines and assiduous detail, Abhishek likes to create textures on fabric using traditional and modern techniques to achieve a look that is unique and contemporary yet deeply rooted in Indian Craft. Fine appliqué and cutwork that and exquisite quilting are some of his trademark techniques.
