NSDC & Health SSC partnered with INSCOL Health skill launched its first Academy of Excellence in Chandigarh

 Delhi 3rd March 2016: National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) & Health Sector Skill Council have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with INSCOL & Seneca College to announce the launch of first Academy of Excellence in Chandigarh to provide skills training in the Health Sector.



NSDC, INSCOL and Seneca College have set up academies of excellence which will not only include training of Nurses, but other allied Healthcare professionals such as para medics, technicians, nurse assistants, pharmacist assistants, dental assistants, etc. INSCOL will provide opportunities for youth training for the roles of General Duty Assistant, Home Health Aide, and Emergency Medical.



According to NSDC report, healthcare sector grew by almost 100% from 2.75 lakh crore in 2008 to 4.8 lakh crore in 2012. It is poised to grow to INR 9.64 Lakh crore by 2017. Workforce requirements for the Healthcare sector is expected to grow from 35.9 lakh in 2013 to 74 lakh in 2022 which is more than double its existing workforce to meet the market demand



Speaking on this significant launch, Jayant Krishna, CEO, NSDC said, “This venture opens up the huge opportunity for the youth of Chandigarh to help them acquire skills in the healthcare sector. The international state-of-the-art simulation labs will help them to acquire skills of International standards which will help the youth to aspire for local, national and international job opportunities”
