Hot Rod Red

1. Ashes & Snow
45 ml Plantation Original Dark Rum 30 ml Charred Pineapple 20 ml Lemon Juice 15 ml Simple Syrup 1 pinch sea salt 1 pinch charcoal 4 dash Chartreuse Elixir Vegetal
This is inspired by the work of Gregory Colbert, of the same name. The drink takes on the color scheme of Gregory’s work and we have translated it into a cocktail. Using edible charcoal, this ingredient has given the cocktail an unexpedtedly beautiful presence.

2. A Certain Shade Of Green
45 ml Martin Miller’s Gin 30 ml Kiwi Juice 20 ml Matcha Green Tea Syrup 15 ml Lemon Juice 4 dash Absinthe
Inspired by the alternative rock band “Incubus’” song of the same name, this cocktail aspires to present a similar voyage for the drinker, akin to what Incubus had in mind whilst singing their song. The aggregation of kiwi and matcha green tea flavours alongside the botanicals from the gin creates a nice calming plateau. The hint of absinthe triggers a tinge of naughtiness.

3. Basil Hallward
45 ml Ketel One Vodka 30 ml Watermelon Juice 15 ml Basil Lemon Syrup 15 ml Lemon Juice 1 pinch sea salt
Basil Hallward is a fictional character in the work of Oscar Wilde’s The Portrait of Dorian Grey.  The cocktail itself is a work of art, utilising flavours from watermelon and basil to create a savoury yet refreshing drink. This cocktail is also the first signature cocktail in Bar Vagabond to use vodka as its main ingredient.

4. Carnival !!!
45 ml Leblon Cachaca 15 ml Lemon Juice 20 ml Vanilla Syrup 1 no. Passionfruit 5 no. Blueberry
The annual carnival in Brazil can be considered the biggest party in the world and this was the inspiration for this drink we use the next best product to come out from Brazil, the Cachaca. Passionfruits and blueberries add color and an explosion of flavours to the drinker of this cocktail.

5. Hot Rod Red !!!
45 ml Alipus San Balthazar Mezcal 15 ml Agave Nectar 45 ml Blood Orange Juice 20 ml Lemon Juice 1 sprig Mint 1 sprig Rosemary 1 pinch sea salt
Hot Rods have been a great passion of mine, being a petrolhead lover and a one - time owner of a 1970 5.0 Ford Mustang. If you see hot rods on the street, you just have to stop and be amazed by the beauty of a hot rod. Thus, this is a cocktail that I am especially passionate about, using an agave based spirit from Mexico. Adding blood orange, mint and rosemary, this complex but refreshing cocktail presents a myriad of flavours that the drinker can look forward to.
