Sharat Chandra Srivastava, Violinist and Composer honoured with 100 Pipers True Legends Awards 2016 by CNBC TV18

100 Pipers True Legends Awards, an initiative by CNBC TV18 recently awarded Sharat Chandra Srivastava, Violinist and Composer, for his unconventional contributions by taking music to the masses on 30th January, 2016. A seasoned musician, being in the field for close to 3 decades, he has initiated to break the boundaries of the music and reach the masses, especially to the underprivileged sections of the society. He has conducted numerous workshops and brought in international musicians to the slums to enlighten slum children with different forms of music from across the globe. He was awarded by Mr. Vijay Chadda, CEO, Bharti Foundation.



On the occasion, Sharat, Founder, Strings of the World was noted saying, ”In 2012, I started this music festival called, ‘Strings of the World Festival’, where the focus was to take music to the masses and not restricting to only the concert halls.”



This prestigious honour is given annually to the recipients for their extraordinary contributions in their respective fields. Twelve awardees from diverse categories were honoured on the occasion. Some of them included tiger conservation, women upliftment, empowering rural children with entrepreneurial skill sets, and many more.
