Mumbai, February 5, 2016: In this day and age, technology has surely taken over a major part of our lives. With the advent of digital media, it has become rather imperative to look at the nuances of how individuals voice their opinions on various issues online. To explore the same The Department of Mass Media, Kishinchand Chellaram College, will be organizing the third annual media summit – ‘Media Summit 2016 - an International Conference on Digital Democracy’ to be held on college campus on February 19-20, 2016.
The conference will be inaugurated by Mr. Sachin Kalbaug, Resident Editor of the Hindu. The keynote speaker will be Ms. Vanita Kohli-Khandekar – a well-known writer and media specialist who has been critically tracking the Indian media and entertainment industry for many years now. Forbes India Editor Mr. Sourav Majumdar will be the guest for valedictory on the second day of the conference, informed Ms. Manjula Srinivas, Head, Department of Mass Media.
KC College was established in 1954 under the aegis of the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board. It won the ‘Best College, (Urban Area) Award’ by the University of Mumbai in January 2015.
Sharing her views on the conference, Ms Manju Nichani, Principal, KC College, said, “Our college strongly believes in using innovative methods of learning for the benefit of its students. The theme for this year’s media conference is relevant to the existing means of expressions on various digital media. The conference will bring together academics, industry bigwigs and researchers in various disciplines to exchange their ideas and contributions to the field of media, its development and education.”
