Jamipol inaugurates second lime grinding plant at Kalinganagar

Jamipol inaugurated its second lime grinding plant at Kalinganagar, Jajpur in Odisha, on February 22, 2016 (the first one was set up at Jamshedpur in 2012). This is the company’s fifth plant in its journey so far, and the third plant in a row in the past four years.

The plant was inaugurated by TV Narendran, managing director, Tata Steel, South East Asia. Also, present on the occasion were distinguished guests from Tata Steel,  includeding  Dibyendu Bose, chairman; Rajiv Kumar, VP, operations, KPO;  and RR Jha, VP, engineering, KPO, Tata Steel. The entire event was spearheaded by Adarsh Agrawal, MD, Jamipol.

Opening of any new plant is a major achievement, but the speed and quality of execution at this plant has been exceptional – this plant which was scheduled to be completed in 24 months was actually completed in 15 months only and without any cost escalation.

This plant has been designed, installed and commissioned by Jamipol’s  team, without any assistance from external consultants. The plant is well laid out with 28 percent lesser space requirement, is totally pollution free, its capex is lower by 22 percent. The company has taken into account all safety measures while  executing this project and the plant has been designed with due consideration to safety and health of the workforce.

Mumbai: Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, has always considered safety as its core priority and has promoted safety measures, in and around its areas of operation. In recognition of this commitment, Tata Power has been awarded a certificate of appreciation along with a memento for active participation in the ‘electrical safety week’ in Mumbai.

Four divisions of Tata Power, hydro, transmission, transmission projects and distribution were awarded certificates for their commendable safety measures and zero incidents in the last one year. The ‘Electrical Safety Week’, organised by the Government of Maharashtra, incorporated several events such as rallies, street plays, demonstrations and distribution of promotional material.

The inauguration session of the week was attended by more than 40 employees from Tata Power. Nearly 65 employees participated in the Suraksha rally, from Shivaji Park to Tilak Nagar and demonstrated several safety posters, hand bills and equipment for awareness of the general public. All the employees participated with great enthusiasm and were awarded certificates by the electrical inspector, Mumbai.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Sethi, COO and ED, said, “We are delighted that our efforts to promote safety and ensure safe working conditions around our project areas, have been appreciated. Safety has always been a core value at Tata Power and we will continue organsing such initiatives in the future, for the betterment and well-being of surrounding communities.”

The chief electrical inspector presented the certificate of appreciation to Vijay Chourey, Rajendra Saraf and Suresh Sanvatsarkar, who received the honor on behalf of Tata Power. A TV programme sponsored by Tata Power was also part of the electrical safety week, wherein a discussion on electrical safety was held with electrical inspectors and witnessed the active participation of PL Manjrekar from Tata Power. A street play on safety was also organised and the team was sent to various districts and villages across Maharashtra.
