Jnana Vijnana Vidyapeetha to conduct a free meditation for children on 21st February

Bangalore, February 15th 2016: Jnana Vijnana Vidyapeetha will be conducting a free Anapana meditation camp for children between the age group of 10 to 18 years on 21st February at their school premises in Padmanabhanagar from 10 AM to 4 PM.  The meditation camp will be conducted by experienced teachers who have been practising this form of meditation.

Anapana is the first step in learning the technique of Vipassana. Vipassana is one of India’s most ancient meditation techniques. Among the various types of meditation in the world today, the Vipassana method taught by S. N. Goenka is unique. While courses in Vipassana are for adults, Anapana can be easily learnt by children from an early age.

The technique of Anapana is a simple and practical way to achieve mastery over the mind and lead a happy, wholesome life. Anapana means observation of natural, normal respiration, as it comes in and as it goes out.

Practicing Anapana helps in improving concentration and self confidence. It improves a child’s ability to understand, express and perform better in academics as well as in extra curricular activities.  This form of meditation decreases agitation, fear, tension, stress and nervousness. It helps in improving a child’s decision making ability and in building a positive character.
