Hyderabad, January 30, 2016...On Day two of "Startup-a-thon 1.0" fifteen Startups pitched to a panel of Investors. These start ups were selected from the preliminary round of pitches held at St Martin Engineering College.



4 Startups were selected for funding out of 11 startups within the range form 30lakhs – 1.5crore.



Also two Panel Discussions "What do investors look for when investing" and "Entrepreneurship is not for all, how to ensure it is for you" were held.



Organised jointly by askfunding.in and St. Martin Engineering College (SMEC) in Kompally, the objective of the event was to nurture entrepreneurship and encourage student entrepreneurship.



About 200 delegates and entrepreneurs graced the event on the last day



Also on day two, Manoj Sharma, CTO Quikr.com graced the event and introduced the platform to the audience comprising mostly of entrepreneurs and tech geeks.



“The initiative taken by ask mentor and ask funding is a commendable one. In order to show our support to the event, I have introduced our developer platform to students so that they can make use of it. It is same as the in house site we use and anyone can register freely and make use of the basic services,” Sharma said.



“Generally a student takes at least five years time after graduation to become a entrepreneur. Our main aim is to reduce this gap by providing mentorship program. In order to provide support to the youngsters, we started an incubator at SMEC college. This will be made available even to the outside students so that every students gets benefit from this,” Rajiv Lulla, Director Strategy, askfunding.com said.



The aim of this event was to encourage entrepreneurship among students and youth.  Also to remove general perception among the many that risk is attached with entrepreneurship. We want to change this by providing support with this initiative,” Rajiv said. Also the objective of this event is to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation.
