49th ALL INDIA CENTRAL REVENUE SPORTS MEET 2016-17, MUMBAI & FOUNDER'S DAY , ORGANISED BY- CENTRAL EXCISE & SERVICE TAX MUMBAI
15th February, 2017 in Mumbai- The grand opening ceremony of 49th All India Central Revenue Sports Meet 2016-17, Mumbai & Founder's Day , Organised By- Central Excise & Service Tax Mumbai saw the presence of all heavy weights, like sh SC Varshney Chief commissioner central excise zone, Rajiv Tandon, Devendra Singh zone 3 Chief commissioner, Shyam Raj Prasad, Mike Wietecha , Dilip Vengsarkar, Sanjay Kumar Patra, additional commissioner Manpreet arya , Soni Bhoir Co Producer of Marathi movie, Minoti Prasad Senior Athelatis Torch Run, Sanjeev Mehra etc.
The event commenced with lighting of lamp followed by Ganesh Vandana. Sh Patra along with Sh Varshney hosted the flag with pride. In order to capture the essence of the event, there was a Traditional March by East, North, South and west zone as well as Oath taking.
Dignitaries like Sanjay Kumar Patra was felicitated by Subhash Varshney Chief Commissioner Central Excise Mumbai; Dilip Vengsarkar was felicitated by S. R. Prasad; Vineeta Sinha Deputy Commissioner felicitated Sumo Wrestler Mike Wietecha.
Keeping up with the Valentine's Day mode, Mike Wietecha proposed Soni Bhoir Co Producer of Marathi movie on the formal stage of the function.
Chief Guests Shri Sanjay Kumar Patra, Chief Commissioner, Income Tax, Mumbai & Guest of Honour Shri Dilip Vengsarkar, Eminent Former Cricket Player addressed the audience and media & spoke lengths about the opening ceremony & declared the Sports meet open.
Subhash Varshney Chief Commissioner Central Exercise Mumbai said " It is my pride to welcome you all on this grand occasion before I go further please allow me to express my appreciation to you all for your support in holding this mega sports event. The CRSCB provides an excellent platform for the officers to meet to interact and to participate in the sports and the cultural activities at the sub zonal, zonal and the national level. We are providing them skills in Mumbai to make their dreams come true. I assure you that the organizing committee will provide you all the facilities and support in order help you to give your best performance. I would like to give you an idea what you can expect and what you hope to achieve in the next three days. The participants who have forte in different sports and have won medals in sub zonal and zonal level will be participating and showcasing their talents in different events that is cricket, football, hockey, basketball, kabbadi, lawn tennis, table tennis, badminton and athletics etc in this sports meet. The sports events shall be conducted at 5 different venues across Mumbai and conclusion of the events with the closing ceremony will be held at CRSBC congress day celebration on 17th February 2017 at media center film city Goregaon east Mumbai . The event will witness several exciting performances by renowned artists from Bollywood apart from inspirational speeches by famous sports persons. Before this meet the CRSCB has already organized all India central revenue golf tournament and shooting tournament at Pune and Delhi respectively. I congratulate the Chief Commissioner of Central Excise Pune and Shree Rajesh Pandey Commissioner of Central Exercise Pune for successfully organizing all India central revenue tournament on 10-02-2017. I congratulate Chief commissioner of central Excise new Delhi as well for successfully organizing all India central revenue shooting tournament on January 2017"
