Nando’s India comes back to the heart of Bengaluru (Indiranagar)

The spacious 7500 sq. feet restaurant is spread across two floors and can seat 176 guests. The uniquely themed design, allows customers to experience ‘New Africa’ as they move through the restaurant – The art in the restaurant and the design of the furniture and lights are catalysts of this experience.

Built in collaboration with Yellow Wood, Design Collective; the restaurant design philosophy embodies ‘New Africa’ across both the ground and first floor, albeit with subtle differentiation.

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Sumeet Yadav, CEO, Nando’s India said, “We are delighted to open our second restaurant in this young and vibrant city, and this one will be our flagship casa. This is Nando’s biggest casa in India and our team is all fired up to start serving PERi-PERi goodness, to our guests. Our customers have been asking for new additions to the menu, and we are confident that additions such as PERi-nuts, Natas and bottomless frozen yogurt - for sweet cravings, will satisfy their taste buds.”

On customer experience:

Nando’s believes in the concept of ‘Minha Casa é Sua Casa’ which means ‘Our Home is Your Home’. The consumer experience in the restaurant embodies this philosophy. It’s all about sparking new connections by giving more power to the customer to be able do his own thing.

Just like they would in their own home, customers are free to help themselves to limitless portions of soft drinks, frozen yogurt or the legendary PERi-PERi sauces. There are no constraints on walking around, checking out the beautiful art in the restaurant or sparking connections with others.

Adding to the experience are the groovy beats of Afro-Luso music, directly streamed from South Africa. Nando’s is one of the largest exporters of South African art in the world and curated art pieces imported from Southern Africa are installed in the Indiranagar casa. These complement to the essence of a homely décor and complete the Nando’s experience. More than 13,000 South African art pieces adorn the walls of Nando’s restaurants, across its 1200+ casa’s world-wide!

On design and interiors:

A key Nando’s design point is the attention to detail. This comes through in various elements such as the contemporary custom furnishings, durable floor surfaces, edgy wall claddings and warm and welcoming custom designed lighting. A staircase separates the two experiences from the ground to the first floor. The same African inspired geometric timber clad pattern moves up the wall to create a sense of continuity between the two floors. However, as the customer reaches the first floor the dining experience is somewhat different. The first floor is completely open on one side to allow the guests to immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of Bengaluru.  Although the cladding on the walls and the banquette details and upholstery are similar, there are designed elements that make a clear distinction between the levels.

With this world class casa, one of the largest in Asia, Nando’s hopes to reignite the love for the legendary flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken amongst its fans. Lovers of Nando’s Bangalore and first timers alike, can now hop over to Indiranagar to experience new Africa, PERi-PERi goodness and a warm Nando’s welcome!
