The Supreme Legislation Committee’s future smart solutions were highly commended by the decision-makers and senior government officials as they drive to strengthen the role of the legislative system in supporting the smart transformation and Dubai’s march towards sustainable development. Under the theme of ‘Reimagining Realities’, the Secretariat also showcased its other smart services, including ‘Smart Legislation’ and ‘e-Payment’ for subscription to the ‘Official Gazette of Dubai Government,’ and a service that will enable local authorities to participate and learn about various stages of preparation.

This smart solution garnered tremendous attention during previous year’s edition of GITEX because of its strategic importance as a sophisticated platform and a smart gate to disseminate domestic legislation as well as facilitate access to legislative sources in Dubai. This will contribute in enhancing the legal system and developing the legislative process in order to ensure provision of the objective and realistic conditions of a leading legislation that simulates reality and looks to the future. The Secretariat highlighted the achievements of the ‘Official Gazette Gate’ project as a quantum leap as a unified and integrated legislative and knowledge-based platform that promotes community awareness towards the legal rights and obligations.

H.E. Ahmad Saeed bin Meshar, Secretary General of Supreme Legislation Committee, said: “We are taking major steps towards smart transformation by implementing innovative smart solutions that conform to the best international practices and supports the vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed to make Dubai as the world’s smartest city and the most prominent hub during the next phase of growth, leadership and excellence. We have strategic plans to launch a new portfolio of smart and innovative services by next year which would be a vital addition to our efforts in improving the legislative and legal system in Dubai as well as meet the requirements of smart transformation.

H.E. Bin Meshar added: “We are honoured to participate in GITEX Technology Week for the third consecutive year following tremendous success of our innovative services during the last two editions. We are happy that our existing and future portfolios of smart services were widely praised by the decision-makers, visitors and exhibitors during this leading international event. This acts as motivation for us to intensify our efforts to strive for further achievements in the field of smart transformation and build a smart, creative and proactive government that works to seek customers’ happiness and meets the needs of the future.”

Khalid Al Suwaidi, Head of IT Department at Supreme Legislation Committee, said: “We are pleased to reveal our comprehensive portfolio of smart projects scheduled for the next year that complements the pioneering achievements in the area of smart transformation. In addition, it supports quality initiatives to upgrade Dubai’s legal and legislative system in line with the rapid developments of the 21st century.”

“The ‘Smart Legislation’ and ‘e-Payment’ services for subscription to the ‘Official Gazette of Dubai Government’ will be made available over the next year. These are geared to provide the local authorities with interactive benefits of the advanced technology to meet smart government requirements as well as the needs of the stakeholders, including lawmen, law consultants, government and federal entities, and community. We look forward to complete the development of new services and the enhancement of the existing ones in a move that will have tangible results in enhancing the contribution of the legal and legislative sector in the smart transformation process led by Dubai,” concluded Al Suwaidi.

Supreme Legislation Committee was established by Decree No. (23) for the year 2014 in line with the Strategic Plan of the Government of Dubai.
