Honda conducts ‘Mega Safety Riding Program’ in Chennai

Chennai, 03 October, 2016: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI), conducted the two day ‘Mega Safety Riding Program’ at DG Vaishnav College, Chennai. The program was inaugurated in the august presence of Major Dr. M. Venkatramana- Principal, DG Vaishnav College and Mr. Vijay Kumar –Sales Area In-charge, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. The Navi-Road Safety Awareness Rally was flagged off by Mr R. Hitler, Commissioner of Police-Traffic, Chennai. The program saw participation from more than 1000 students.  

Key highlights of Honda’s activities at Mega Safety Riding Program-Chennai:

è Female Safety Riding a dedicated task force of women safety instructors trained women on how to become independent riders in just 4 hours. 

è Expert Honda Safety instructors (female & male) educated new riders on correct riding techniques and posture.

è Honda’s Proprietary riding trainers helped people experience over 100 possible dangers on road. The virtual experience significantly increases rider’s ability to predict & react to traffic hazards. 

è Safety riding presentations were directed on road safety know-how – a boon for many existing and new riders

è Road Safety Awareness Rally was flagged off which went through various major city junctions. The rally included around 40 participants riding with safety gears on their Navi spreading the message on road safety throughout the city.

Road Safety commitment of Honda:

For Honda, road safety is a global priority since 1970. In India, Honda is promoting road safety awareness right from its inception in 2001. In our 15 years operations, we have educated over 8 lac people of all age groups on safe riding. HMSI has trained around 3 lac people at its ten traffic training parks across India. These include: Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Yeola (Nashik), Indore, two parks in Delhi and Ludhiana.
