Taps into #FutureOfWork; tri-city LLYOD SHEROES Summit 2016 concludes in Mumbai

Mumbai, September 7th, 2016: Cross-sector support and socio-economic essentials have enabled women to fulfill their professional dreams and attain economic liberation – a progressive step towards the #FutureOfWork -- as highlighted during the LLYOD SHEROES Summit 2016.

Organised by SHEROES.in, an online career destination for women, in association with Paytm and Monster.com, the 4th edition of the annual tri-city mega event concluded its final chapter in Mumbai  recently. The meet outlined the fundamental belief of facilitating women with professional opportunities to help them achieve work-life balance and financial independence.

Commenting on the importance of this summit, Sairee Chahal, Founder & CEO, SHEROES.in said, "SHEROES is a take-charge network for women who have career on their mind. With the SHEROES Summit, we are helping them connect to possibilities through this network. With the biggest pool of verified work from home opportunities, SHEROES is helping women stay connected to work. It is a matter of pride to have support of progressive organizations like LLOYD Group. We are on a mission to fulfill ambitions and aspirations and the SHEROES career helpline is helping us do that."

Elaborating on this event, Nipun Singhal, Director, LLYOD Electric & Engineering, said,“Lloyd is very proud and privileged of this association with SHEROES. When I was first approached I wanted to discover the meaning of SHEROES. Someone said, 'She Heroes'. So SHEROES creates she heroes, celebrates them. We want to add on and help SHEROES in doing that. We will continue to work with SHEROES for events such as this to help bridge gender disparity at workplaces."

The day’s events began with a panel discussion preceding the launch of corporate-honcho-turned-author Apurva Nagpal’s second book, EighteenPlus Duets. Co-authored with 18 women, the rib-tickling, saucy sequel to Eighteen Plus: Bedtime Stories. For Grown-Upstakes a tongue-in-cheek look at the inner conflicts among the youth today. The panel discussion that followed had Apurva, and author Bhawna Mohile and sexologist Urjita Kulkarni – among co-authors ofEighteen Plus Duets – deliberating upon the issues plaguing the youth today, across genders.

Later in the day, a CXO session was anchored by Nipun Singhal, Director, LLYOD Electric & Engineering Limited. Shinjini Kumar, CEO designate, Paytm Payments Bank; Reena Chabbra CEO, FSN Brand, Nykaaand Sudeep Tandon, CBO, Freecharge were the other panelist participating in the session. The event also comprised ‘Dare to be’,an interactive session between author Rinku Paul, comedian NeetiPalta, and singer SonamKalra. Named after Rinku Paul’sbook, the session stressed on the importance of encouraging women to be assertive about their beliefs and follow their dreams.

The Mumbai LLYOD SHEROES Summit’s other key session was on

‘Future of Work’, moderated by Rega Jha, Editor-in-chief, Buzzfeed. The other two participants in the discussion were Deepali Nair, advisor, IAMAI, and Neha Motwani, Founder, Fitternity.

CEO of  Red Chillies and MD of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR),Venky Mysore led an interesting session  on ‘Fireside Chat’.“I am very excited with what I am doing as it does not feel like work. I sit and watch cricket at home and work at the same time. A choice of this sort is required for working women, who are constantly trying to figure out an effective way to balance their career and family. Women today need to assert their financial independence. SHEROES is an enabler of this assertion where work-life balance is more than an aspiration. With the SHEROES’ innovative edge a woman's career is beyond the 9-to-5 grunge. It's  an expression of her free-will to work and excel,” said MrMysore.

The meet concluded with the ‘Good Girls Show’, curated by comedian Varun Grover.
