Bengaluru 28th September 2016  : This year, KITES, the elder care specialist, is organizing a Free elder health camp on Saturday 1st Oct 2016 for persons aged 60 and above. The camp is being organized between 8am and 2pm at KITES center at 17th cross,  HSR Layout situated opposite the HSR Layout water tank. The health check-up includes vitals check, BMI, grbs, hearing tests, physio & a physician review.

1st October of each year is designated as the International day of Older persons by the United Nations. This day is used to raise awareness on issues affecting the elderly and also remember & appreciate the contributions made by the elders. The theme for 2016, “Take a Stand Against Ageism”, challenges everyone to consider ageism – the negative attitudes and discrimination based on age - and the detrimental impact it has on older people.


KITES is an organisation which works in the field of elder care, geriatrics. They focus in promoting preventive care and active ageing philosophies in the elderly. Apart from the regular home and clinic  based primary &preventive care of the elderly, they also have a unique program called AKTIVPLUS which promotes active ageing philosophy. In addition, they have regular workshops and weekly events at their center for the benefit of their members on variety of topics of interest to the elderly. Further, they have a holistic approach in management of hypertension, diabetes, stroke rehab, pain management and dementia & parkinson’s care.
