Launches the first edition of its DLF5 Kids Club
Delhi NCR, 17th September 2016: In order to celebrate the little angels of the resident community, DLF5 launched the first edition of the DLF5 Kid’s Club at DLF Club5 today.
Children today are growing up faster than ever and are grappling with critical decisions at a very young age. Money related decisions are primary and in order to enable children to understand the value of money, workshops that include hands-on activities, comprehension and critical thinking are essential in shaping their growth.
The event, attended by over 100 children between ages 6 to 15 years, consisted of “The Money Programme” by Think Station. This program covered modules such as All About Money: what it is, its history, world and our currency; Using Money: earning, spending, investing and saving and the Power of Money: world money, credit cards and how they work, crime and security. Techniques like role play and group tasks made it a fun-filled learning experience for the children.
Disha, a 12-year-old, resident of DLF5 and one of the attendees said, “It was a great session where I enjoyed meeting my other DLF5 friends and also, learned methods to optimise and save my pocket money.
Another resident of DLF5 said, “It was a very engaging activity and helped me learn so much. I want more such activities to happen where I can meet my friends and have fun.”
Mother of Adwika, an 8-year-old DLF5 resident said “I think activities like this play a key role in the overall development of kids in a fun-filled way and more of such activities should take place.”
The primary focus of this event was to spread financial literacy among the younger ones and teaching them ways to explore a whole new world of money management techniques. The kids were given certificates at the end of the session.
