Culinary Genius Chef Kunal Kapur RETURNS to the MasterChef Kitchen
September 8th, 2016, New Delhi: The show that has created ripples in every Indian household, MasterChef India, is all set to roll out its fresh season- MasterChef India Season 5. The very popular show is back with new contestants and also marks the return of the dapper gastronomic expert, chef Kunal Kapur as the judge.
The candid chef who ruled our hearts in the first three seasons of MasterChef is prepped to don the judge’s hat again along with chef Vikas Khanna and Zoravar Kalra. Famous for his cute smile and forthrightness, the chef never minced words while articulating his feedback on contestants in previous seasons and neither does he plan to change that about him.
“My other commitments kept me away from the MasterChef kitchen last year but I never really made an exit. As they say, heart is where the food is and so I am back. I feel this is a great platform for budding chefs to showcase their cookery expertise and we are more like mentors to garnish their talent and not just judge them,” echoed Kunal Kapur.
He’s well known for his strong commitment to health and wellness and took India’s gastronomical heritage to another level by associating with Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution initiative to spread awareness about the benefits of healthy cooking. Not just this, his various food and travel shows along with authoring his second book kept his hands full and kept him away from being the face of the ace cookery talent show in Season 4.
His love for food and cookery are the reasons he’s back on the show and is all set to rock the new season with his culinary acumen. Kunal is known to be a people’s person and is loved immensely for being approachable and for presenting the most exotic dish in an extremely simple way. With the season 5 around the corner, Chef Kunal is both excited and nervous. About what he will bring to the table as a judge, Kunal adds, “I want to make cooking mainstream both for the audience and the participants. As a judge I will ensure I encourage my participants to bring out the best in them.”
MasterChef Season 5 is expected to hit the Indian television screen on October 1st. It’s being shot across India in cities like Ahamdabad, Jaipur, Amritsar and many more. The theme for this year’s Masterchef is cooking is a serious pursuit and #notjustahobby. It’s definitely going to be bigger and better.
