Students from Somaiya Vidyavihar, amassed a huge medal tally in the recently concluded 30th Maharashtra Junior State Taekwondo Competition 2016

India 04 August 2016: At the 30th Maharashtra Junior State Taekwondo Competition Taekwondo Competition 2016, held at Pune, Students from Somaiya Vidyavihar excelled with flying colours. The competition had 550 participants (300girls and 250 boys). District Gold medallist from 28 districts had participated in this competition
DipakBhor - 12th, K .J. Somaiya Arts and Commerce: Gold Medal Kyurogi (Fight) and Best Fighter award winner
Shraddha Mishra - 11th / Com – S.K. Somaiya Junior College - Silver medal in Poomsae
SimranPatil - FYBcom– K.J. Somaiya College of Science and Commerce, Gold medal in Kyurogi (Fight) and Poomsae Gold & Silver medal
SandeshMargaje - (K.J. Somaiya College Arts and Commerce)Silver medal in Kyurogi (Fight)
* Poomsae - It is a combination of techniques of block and attack performed consecutively while moving in certain directions.

The students were coached by SandeepYewale,a National Taekwondo Coach, 5th Dan Black Belt and Government Best Coach Award winner - 2008.
