Chandigarh 25 August 2016 : Today,the country’s largest luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz-launched for the first time, a petrol variant of its highest selling SUV, the GLE. The GLE has been an outright bestseller SUV for Mercedes-Benz in India and has created new benchmarks in the segment. GLE 400 4MATIC has been launched with a powerfulV6 petrol engine,in order to provide patrons with an option between a diesel and petrol version. The SUV segment has been the fastest growing for Mercedes-Benz India for the past two years, and underlines the growing penchant of SUVs amongst customers. The GLE 400 4MATIC was introduced by Roland Folger, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India and will be available across Mercedes-Benz dealerships.

AIRMATIC suspension with Adaptive Dampening System
This unique suspension enables enhanced ride comfort, a higher driving dynamics and offers higher ground clearance. The GLE’s AIRMATIC air suspension combined with the Adaptive Damping System (ADS) guarantees extremely stable driving. The damping system changes its priorities depending on the preselected DYNAMIC SELECT mode. SPORT focuses on the greatest possible lateral dynamics with the best possible ride quality. Conversely, COMFORT mode enables maximum ride quality with the best possible dynamics. The AIRMATIC suspension ensures constant vehicle level irrespective of loading and raises the maximum ground clearance to 232 mm and also automatically lowers the suspension by 15 mm at high speeds.
DYNAMIC SELECT
The innovative DYNAMIC SELECT dynamic handling control system of the GLE offers up to five driving modes for an unparalleled driving experience. The DYNAMIC SELECT changes parameters such as the characteristics of engine, transmission, steering and suspension. The five different driving modes are ‘Comfort’, ‘Sport’, ‘Slippery’, ‘Individual’ and ‘Off-road’.
COMAND Online with New Generation Telematics
The infotainment system of the GLE offers COMAND Online with New Generation Telematics and features Mercedes-Benz Apps. Navigation, telephone, audio, video, internet, Wi-Fi hotspot – with the COMAND Online controller and display system enables the driver to keep these and many other functions in view and under control. Information is shown in high-resolution and in colour on the large 20.3 cm (8-inch) Media Display.
Harman Kardon® Logic 7® surround sound system
The renowned Harman Kardon Logic 7 Surround sound system is specially matched to the vehicle interior Logic 7® multi-channel surround sound technology for an enthralling 360-degree sound experience of stereo and discrete 5.1 recordings in every seat. The powerful multi-channel DSP amplifier with up to 830 watts for precision dynamics and excellent sound balance enhances the overall acoustic experience. It also features a speed-sensitive volume control for a uniform audio experience that is channeled via 14 high-performance loudspeakers.
