Gel nail polish are very popular as it lasts longer than your regular nail polish. Removing gel nail polish is a bit tricky, so we prefer going to parlor to get it removed. Today we gonna show you a step by step tutorial on how to remove gel nail polish easily at home?

What do we need to remove gel nail polish? 
 
So to remove gel nail polish easily at home we would need the following products which are easily available and dont cost a bomb which we would spend in the parlor if you had to get it done from there.

List of things needed to remove gel nail polish at home
 
We dont need no fancy stuff only a few basic items listed below :

  • Cotton balls
  • Acetone
  • Nail file
  • Orange stick
  • Aluminum foil
  • Soap
  • Water
  • Moisturizer
  • Small bowl
  • Towel

Step by step tutorial on how to remove gel nail polish easily at home :
 
File your Nails :

Taking a nail file, file each nail so that the Acetone can penetrate below the final coat. 

Soak Cotton in Acetone 

Take a small bowl and pour acetone in it. Now take cotton and make 10 small cotton balls and let them soak in acetone. 

Applying Acetone and Wrapping with Foil

Now take the acetone soaked cotton balls one by one and place them on each of your fingers. As you put one cotton ball on one of your nails, Wrap that nail with a strip of aluminum foil, so that the cotton ball stays on the nail. Do this till all your nails are covered. Let your nails be covered for at least seven minutes.
Remove the Foil Wrapping 

After keeping your nails wrapped in aluminum foil for around seven minutes it's now time to set your nails free. 

Scrape off the Gel Polish

Do not use your fingernails to scrape of the gel polish. Use a wooden orange stick to scrape the gel polish off, It should come off easily. 

Wash your Hands Clean

After scarping off the gel nail polish, make sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and rinse with water. 

Buff your Nails

After washing and drying your hands, use a nail buffer to buff your nails of any remaining gel polish. Don't be very harsh while buffing your nails use smooth strokes. Always wash your hands after buffing to get rid of any dust from the buffing. 

Moisturize your Nails

All the acetone used and buffing done to remove the gel nail polish weakens the Nail bed and drys the skin around the nail. Use some nail oil and nail strengthener to moisturize your nails and strengthen them.
